Gorin (five rings) is a buddhist term that indicates the four elements of the universe: chi (the earth), mizu (the water), hi (the fire) and kaze (the wind); and at last: ku (empty) the essence of the phenomena in the universe. Ku is a typical concept of the second buddismo which all the phenomena of this world are born by themselves, independently, they are not provokes to you from external causes, the phenomenon exists for if same. The reason for which the word is used rin (ring) in order to indicate this concept is due to the fact that rin being curved and lacking in chines symbolizes the perfect truth.
